Arden
Born from the mind of Jérôme Deuson (aka aMute whose new album The Sea Horse Limbo is just out now), Jeuc Dietrich and Christophe Bailleau, Arden is a big band willing to deform, improvise and fight music in every circumstances. The line up itself is totally free and changes from time to time. Their new production, simply called Walk (actually the name of a Lieu Dit lost in the belgian woods) is awaited for mid 2007. Due to geograpical and technical reasons, some of the original members couldnt make their way to the recording sessions of last september but were replaced by other talents who define new path to superb and splendid array of sound. Among them, we can recall the names of Alain Lefebvre (Stilll label co-manager with Deuson and ex-Durutti Column drummer), Guillaume Graux aka TUK (K-raa-K3 artist whose new album is firmly awaited for this end of the year), Stéphane Fédèle (aMute drummer), Niko Hafkenscheid (singer and guitar composer) and a young londonian called Um Am Fall. Their performances are rare and then always sophisticated with a dozen of instruments (bass, drums, guitars, 4 laptops, Korg synthetizers) and could be compared to a deep dive into a mechanical improvised oblivion assisted by memories on tape (Bailleau and Deuson carry the visual part of the set). This new line up will be playing for the first time during the Cimatics festival and offer unique moments of laptop melodies, folk abstractivism and rock tensions.
